Where are they now? Rohne publishes her full autobiography!

Do you remember the pressure that created this star to be born? Well she’s only gone and published her full story – huge congratulations from the Emerging Proud community, Rohne.

REALIZED: From Rock Bottom to Unconditional Love — by Rohne

What if your breakdown was actually your breakthrough?

In REALIZED, Rohne shares a deeply personal journey through silent emotional crisis, inner collapse, and ultimately, profound self-realization. This is not just a story of survival—it is a story of coming home to yourself.

For anyone who has built a life that looks right but feels wrong, this memoir offers a powerful mirror—and a possible path forward.

Hi Katie Mottram, Voice from the past here, from Lancaster, we met a couple of times in Manchester and other places sometimes with Bryony. Hope your PhD studies are going well, your supervisor is helpful, the I.T. is not a pain and everything flows beautifully! Thank you for your posts which I do read from time to time. I have completed my professional doctorate which is a qualitative study on how some individiual create lives that are successful on their own terms after distressing and (very) strange experiences. Don’t be put off by the academic thesis title!

Perhaps yourself and some of your readers might be interested in putting into Google:- David Barton 2026 Subjective experiences … The abstract will pop up straight away and there is a direct link to the Open Access full thesis. Your book is mentioned and in the references.

Well done for being so active on media while studying!

    Best Wishes

    Dr Dave

    • Hi Dave, so lovely to hear your update – huge congratulations Dr Dave! I’ve just read your abstract and it sounds like a very necessary study (people can access it here: https://knowledge.lancashire.ac.uk/id/eprint/58324/) If you’d like me to share your thesis in a blog please let me know. I actually didn’t pursue my PhD in the end, the twists and turns of life pulled me elsewhere… Thank you for continuing to fight the good fight, and I hope life is treating you well as a result. Warm wishes to you, Katie

Hi Katie, great to hear from you!

I am now wondering if the doctorate was actually a good idea as I am struggling to put it to work. There is one job I am handing in my application for tomorrow (NIMHR project), but otherwise I am looking for opportunities. The doctorate removed me from much of ordinary life, my head energy definitely expanded but my heart seems easily less accessible (for now at least)!

Yes I would be honoured if you could share the thesis in a blog.

        Cheers

        Dave
